But sadly, getting a Trump NFT in your stocking would probably be a pretty valuable thing right now.

Of course you are correct, and unfortunately, not all that surprising.

But a lump of coal turned into a diamond under pressure of an outside influence still remains just a lump of carbon, only given higher market value by the beholders.

A polished turd is still a turd, just shinier. Trump cards, sadly, do seem to have that same shiny value.

As Gregory Alan Isakov laments to his muse in 'The Stable Song'

'Turn me back into that wild haired gale

Turn these diamonds straight back into coal.'
