“In the past three years, the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas invaded Israel, China increased its pressure on Taiwan, the China-Russian partnership solidified, Houthi terrorists wreaked havoc on Red Sea shipping, Iran moved closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon, North Korea enhanced its intercontinental missile capacity, China and Russia modernized their nuclear forces, and illegal immigrants flooded the U.S. southern border.
The Biden administration conducted an amateurish withdrawal from Afghanistan that cost the lives of several Americans and many more of our Afghan allies. Biden provided aid to Ukraine and used rhetoric that risked escalating the Ukraine War into a broader European or World War. He conducted a policy toward China that combined “engagement” with a continuation of some of Donald Trump’s more confrontational policies. Biden’s overall Russia policy strengthened the Sino-Russian strategic partnership. His isolated responses to Houthi shipping attacks did nothing to deter those attacks. The administration’s push for a ceasefire in Gaza has hampered Israel’s efforts to defeat Hamas. Its response to Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons was to attempt to resuscitate the flawed nuclear deal. It has pushed for more “arms control” with Russia even as China’s nuclear build-up continues. And it has facilitated rather than prevented the illegal entry of millions into our country.”

Umm, president Trump ordered direct talks with the Taliban without consulting with our allies and partners or allowing the Afghan government at the negotiating table. Trump even publicly considered inviting the Taliban to Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11; quite the signal.
In February 2020, the United States and the Taliban reached a deal, known as the Doha Agreement, under which the United States agreed to withdraw all U.S. forces from Afghanistan. As part of the deal, Trump also pressured the Afghan government to release 5,000 Taliban fighters from prison, including senior war commanders, without securing the release of the only American hostage known to be held by the Taliban.
Evidently Real Clear Defense forgot these key facts.

killing American soldiers.
Biden is a disgusting failure as our commander in chief.
I am hoping the Republicans will hit hard with sound bites and campaign ads reminding the American people Biden has blood on his hands.

Reprehensible and tone deaf, but just to be clear, the Taliban was not involved in 9/11.
The Taliban happily, perhaps gleefully, provided sanctuaries for the training of Al Qaeda militants and terrorists. While there is no evidence that the hijackers on 9/11 trained at those camps, there is no doubt that the Taliban helped build the military and terror arms of Al Qaeda, and that some of those trainees were involved in other terror incidents around the world, including in Europe and Africa.
