The US attacked Iran, because Israel was going to attack Iran. If Israel attacked, Iran would retaliate against US bases, so, to protect USians at the bases, the US attacked first.

It's interesting that this is a variation on the Renee Good defense: run in front of a moving vehicle and then claim that the driver was trying to run you over so you had to shoot her in the side of the head.

And, btw, where are all the Epstein files?
