The dems aren’t going to shut the government down - again - over ICE.

The Reps shut it down last time. At least they are getting most of the blame. Dems would get the blame for this one. But ICE is so staggeringly unpopular (only 36% last I saw), a majority of people appear likely to support it.

But it isn't really shutting down everything. It specified a DHS funding bill, which appears to be one of six bills that are a "spending package". Only the one(s) funding DHS are in jeopardy.

Any bill that funds DHS must include explicit, enforceable, provisions regarding the conduct and training of ICE officers. Otherwise, shut it down until we seat a new -probably much more centrist- Congress.
