It's not that there's "no evidence that London or its mayor, Sadiq Khan, has imposed or plans to impose Shariah...". I mean, c'mon; it's complete bullshit.

It frightens the mob. The Bush junta used the same angle, 20 years ago "the Islamic boogyman wants to come here and enforce Shariah law". The natural reaction, by the mob, is to demand government enforced Christianity, to co-opt the space, before the Muslims can get a foothold. (insert Barney Fife saying "nip it in the bud")
