Former Rep. Tim Ryan just came out and called on Biden to not run again.
The rumblings are getting louder.
Perhaps. But, barring severe health problems (including death), he will be the Dem nominee next year. That is a given. It's a little late for other Dems to be forming "exploratory committees" (and other pre-campaign BS). The Reps are already having primary debates. If Biden doesn't run, it's a lot scarier for the Dems. Would it be Harris (likely, IMHO)? Bernie again (unlikely, IMHO)? It would be a lesser-known person without the advantage of incumbency. Though if Trump wins** the nomination (likely, IMHO), there are still enough people that would be horrified and show up to vote for anyone running against him. That's how Biden won last time, frankly.
** (note: he's also really old, so if Biden is too old then so is Trump)
