As a wise person said, “Ayn Rand is generally first encountered in high school, and should always be left there.”
Back as a freshman in college 67-68, there was a guy in our dorm who was obsessed with Ayn Rand. He would argue with anyone who gave him half a chance. He was bright, but I also believe he was on the spectrum.
That was my first exposure to Ayn Rand, as well as my first exposure to what now would be called “a true believer”...... though obviously not the last on either score.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
