To be fair, democracy was still centuries in the future when most of the Jewish scriptures were written.
By the time of the NT, Rome had a democracy for a while, and then lost it.
Which is kinda irrelevant anyway. A deity would know the concept, and have that as an end goal (if he/she/it didn't favor an authoritarian arrangement in the first place). Of course, the Hebrew (Habiru?) peoples of 3000+ years ago wouldn't know any of that, and wouldn't write their deity as possessing such ideas. Which is why slavery is still god-approved (and Jesus-approved) in the bible. It was very common back in the day, and they couldn't conceive of a world without it. So that's how they wrote it.
