A totally non-political observation...

Stevie Wonder spoke briefly and played a song at Night #3 of the Democratic National Convention. I haven't seen him out and about much over the past few years but he looked and sounded great, both in his speech and the song performance of Higher Ground.

It must be said... Stevie didn't just look good. He looked like Miles Davis -- a total badass.

It was so good to see him healthy and hittin' the note.

I don't watch the conventions from either side, but if I'd known Stevie Wonder was playing I would have tuned in. I should be able to find the clip on Youtube.

Livin For The City is my favorite Wonder song, but Higher Ground is a close 2nd.
Glad to hear he's doing well. He was a favorite of mine growing up, and I'm old, so Stevie
has got to be getting up there in age.

Stevie has got to be getting up there in age.

He's 74 years old, but looked ripped and way younger last night. The first time I heard "Superstition" as a kid, I thought it was one of the most iconic rock numbers ever. He's absolutely a national treasure. Here's the video showing him and his band performing Higher Ground last night (starts at the 3:30 mark).

Yep, the video is on YouTube.

I remember his first hit, "Fingertips" when he was just a young kid.

What a talent. He sure has gone a long way and written so many great tunes.

- - a total badass.

An interviewer asked Stevie - “but don’t you wish you hadn’t been born blind? and Stevie replies "Hey, it could've been much worse - I could have been born black"

He’s one of a kind.

Yes and yes.

First time I saw him was June 10, 1972.
He was the opener for the Rolling Stones STP tour. 52 yr ago.

They introduced him as Little Stevie...and he opened with Fingertips, his breakout number he recorded live about 10 years before when he was 12. .
