"We have a climate change policy: burn more oil, burn more coal, get rid of fuel efficient cars, get rid of EVs, get rid of solar and wind. Burn, Burn, Burn!!!!"
have a friend who lives near the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. He was a chemical engineer, went down there a few decades ago after Dow Chem let him go ( they do that with many of their senior engineers, they don't want to be on the hook for pension and other perk payments, so when people start approaching 50, they get let go ).
My friend says a Texas Gulf Coast summer is a special kind of hell. And it last 5 or 6 months. He has a place in northern Mi, so he escapes for about 4 months every year. He despises Abbot, Patrick, Cruz, and the rest of the ruling class in Texas. Burn Baby Burn is probably exactly what they all are going to do. That climate becomes unlivable if summer temps go up much more. The wealthy will be able to afford to keep cool, of course, but the majority of people are going to really struggle when their electrical grid gets overloaded, and the Texas Power commission ( forget what they're called ) allows the power companies to charge market peak prices to the end users.
Pay up, or deal with the consequences.
Americans everywhere are getting a taste of what they voted for.
Hope it bites them good and hard, without killing the rest of us.
