He could have waited a year or two and gotten another moderate, swing vote onto the court, but nooooo….

Yep - between him retiring early and RBG not retiring when she clearly needed to (at the very least, health-wise), we're stuck with a TIFA court (no "A" allowed there). McConnell obviously played a role, too, but his actions wouldn't have meant nearly as much without these two mucking up things.
