The local Detroit news is flogging "pain at the pump" hysteria. They found one station in metro Detroit that has cracked $4. A woman they interviewed at the pump said "I never let the gas fall below half a tank, because I can't afford a full tank". I had a coworker that was thinking the same way in 2008: filled up more often because he can't afford to fill an empty tank.

I get that math is hard. I never got along with math. But cripes. What is the difference between two $20 fillups and one $40 fillup?

Steve
