ok, i think the trump factor is overly weighted, and the wisdom of crowds is a fail here on the lunacy of potus.

- as sentiment goes against trump on this, which it is, trump will pivot to some other MAGA entertainment topic as he has done in every loss.
(when is the last time he mentioned comey ?!)

- there is no direct and minimal effort path for trump to grift here.

trump has DOZENS if not hundreds of other shenanigans ongoing and available.
simply look at how has rendered insider stock trading opps within a span of 2 weeks via threats on defense, homebuilding, and credit corporations. there is simply no gop interested in pursuing trump family&friends on these types of trades, and he only has 3 years left to leverage up!

Indeed. He wants his "Board of Peace" to get started at Davos, this week, where each country is supposed to pay *him* $1B for access. He'll probably work it like the pump seal company ran it's United Way drive: donate to the charity, or suffer consequences from management.

People need to adjust their window of corruption to encompass the scale that is extant in the US now. A puny $30M/year in "management and licensing fees" for properties in the Middle East are nothing on the new scale of a Billion dollar per trick extortion racket.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened to impose 200% tariffs on French wines and champagne, as French President Emmanuel Macron is reportedly set to refuse joining his “Board of Peace” on Gaza.

When asked for a response by a reporter in Miami, Trump said “Well, nobody wants him because he’s going to be out of office very soon. So you know, that’s all right. What I’ll do is ... I’ll put a 200% tariff on his wines and champagnes, and he’ll join. But he doesn’t have to join.”

As observed before, Trump is all about controlling access. Control of access to Venezuelan oil, Panama Canal, Greenland and Canada minerals. Do as he says, or he denies access. If that lever doesn't work on someone, he uses his control of access to the US market to punish them. Now he is using his control of access to the US market to extort $1B "donations" to himself. Next time he comes around to big oil, he'll probably demand $10B, rather than a measly $1B.
