my summary from The Atlantic podcast....
by deploying the military to LA, trump superseded 3 levels of regional law enforcement (city, county, state) that requested he abstain because they have more than enough resources for appropriate response to the minor matter in hand. we know 'states' rights' is selective and local gop objection would be meaningless.
but this seems unprecedented.
around the same timeframe, trump had his military themed b'day parade, despite objections from the military and taxpayers (both who paid for it).
not so quietly, trump has normalized sending the military anytime and anywhere he wants for domestic purposes.
what will happen when he inevitably suspects voter fraud during the 2026 midterms?
i dont think 'red state' matters much as long as trump is under a delusion there is no way his gop backed candidates could have lost.
