Arguments against contraception are based on conceptions of morality and sin,
I have no problem with them being against it for them,
There is a segment among the deeply religious who believe it is the appropriate (and indeed necessary) role of the state to prevent sin and depravity as the majority might define it.
And thus the tyranny of the majority. I don't think sex is a sin. I think the majority of people recognize that sex occurs outside of marriage and often leads to marriage. I think the church corrupts itself when it gets too political and starts telling people what they should believe. There is a segment among the religious who, if they had their way, would enforce strict codes of conduct across all levels of society. Right now abortion is the focus, but white christian nationalism is on the rise. We know they argue fetuses are persons, but don't you think God would've had Jesus tell us that unambiguously while he was here? Skip taking the Lord's name in vain in the TEN and say do not interfere with the life of an unborn child? And render unto Caesar what is Caesar's -don't shove your morality down our throats.
