What's interesting is that the entire plot was foiled by a farmer who happened to be driving by the airbase coming home from a party. She noticed the vans blocking the road and a bunch of guys in balaclavas running away and called it in. If she hadn't have said something this might have gone really badly.

The other interesting thing is that since she said "They look Middle Eastern" if the circumstances were different SHE might be the one going to jail. The UK has embraced the Norm MacDonald joke whole hog. Even better, when she called the Ministry of Defence hotline or something nobody answered!

The UK is a woke mess. Why have all this citizen surveillance equipment if you're not going to use it to catch bad guys? Unless the purpose never was to catch actually bad guys.
