The week's question
In March 2025, in the thread "Re: OT, out", Umm asked the members: "Do you think it is because America is made up of magical soil that makes businesses based in America magically profitable?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Good for you. Then if you were even halfway competent you'd know how the average Venezuelan feels about their government. Hint: they don't like it.

So when will the Venezuelan voters be given the chance to roust their current Yankee puppets?

Oh...

President Donald Trump’s oil deal with Venezuela may eventually help tackle America’s energy needs, but many in the Venezuelan political opposition fear it could cost the country its shot at restoring democracy.

They worry that the agreement — which gives the U.S. a sizable stake in a Venezuelan-owned oil company and access to preferential pricing — could entrench a regime that has shown no eagerness to move forward with promised elections.

Do you seriously believe Donald Trump will make free and fair elections in Venezuela a priority?

We've seen this movie.... over and over and over again.
