So originally why did you not call it what it is?
(1) He will continue with the same policies in place under the Biden administration
(2) He will start deporting productive immigrants reducing our already tight labor supply

The standard trump method is to create the impression of a fire, then take credit for putting it out. You can't say this, because it is admitting Trump really just duped his followers. I suspect his followers have as difficult a time detecting his hyperbole as the opposition:-) Otherwise, why would he do it?

There is a real problem at the border, but it is not what Trump has said. Worldwide there is mass migration from the southern part of the globe to the northern part. This is the problem that needs to be solved. You can try to hold back the tide, but as we have seen in the past it only results in inhumane treatment.
