You know what that entire routine about Greenland reminded me of? The Falklands, forty years ago. A brutal, repressive, regime estimated that the UK no longer had the means to project power to the other end of the world, so wagged the dog.
And where was Saint Reagan? Where was Article 5? A lot of Brits died, defending their own, because they didn't have adequate air cover, a shortage that would have easily been corrected by a USN carrier group. But no, the Argie junta paid lip service to being "good anti-Communists", so US aid to it's NATO ally amounted to no more than some logistics and intelligence assistance.
