Oh, so you’re in favor of protecting drug cartels and drug runners bringing their drugs into America

That's called a strawman argument. Putting up something ridiculous so that you can easily knock it down.

As for me - and I suspect a great number of folks in the country - I am NOT in favor of protecting drug cartels. What we ARE in favor of is following US and international law. Killing people at sea - even if they are drug runners (which is something the Trump administration hasn't provided any evidence for at all, let alone proven) - is illegal. Instead of killing them, they should be taken into custody and charged with their crimes, then put on trial.

This is no different than a policeman driving up next to you and shooting you because you are speeding or ran a red light.
