Maybe in the iron age (and after), but what about before 1AD? I really don't get hatred of "the Jews".
Before 1AD the Israelites had their little empire for a while, as did the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, etc. Each of them took their turn to conquer and pillage. I don't think the Jews were singled out back then for universal hatred. That came later when they were exiled and some of them refused to assimilate and hung on to their religious practices. Hatred of minorities that remain insular is quite common, to this day, and is also not reserved for Jews in particular. I believe the vast majority of Jews did assimilate and lose their former identities over the centuries. Otherwise there would be a billion Jews in the world today.
