Given the history of the holocaust, pogroms and violence against various ethnic groups in general, the truly irrational thing is watching Israel falling into the same cycle of violence from which the founding of Israel was supposed to shield them.
They've stared too long at the abyss. Understandable.... but eventually the abyss stares back at you.
And that makes the story of Israel a universal human story. Classify it under "tragedies".
Perhaps there will be a sequel for them.
I hope so.
Even as I pray for a parallel sequel for the United States.
