I'm curious. What do you think happens if we do that? Do you think that they do abandon all settlements and retreat to treaty boundaries, or do you think they just go on their own? If the latter, what happens after that?
I suspect they will go it on their own. The extremists would fight (with bullets and explosives) any attempts to retreat to the treaty borders. See Rabin.
If the latter, what happens after that?
Not our problem. Their problem. They'll have to navigate the waters of international relations on their own merits.
It's like (loosely) an adult child. At some point, you just have to let them go be adults. And sometimes fall on their face, and sometimes they soar. You always hope for the latter.
The status quo is intolerable. And we're contributing to it, which MUST stop.
