Any idea what common thread all these popular programs have in common?
And, these days, the GOP is trying to defund/privatize/kill all of that, so the money can go to the "JCs" instead. All the Repubs running for Gov of Michigan want to repeal the state income tax and the property tax that supports public schools. They promise the lost revenue will be made up by eliminating "waste, fraud, and abuse", without any specifics, just like Reagan kept assuring us his policies would not dramatically increase the Federal debt.
