I spent two years stationed in the ROK. DPRK has axed people to death, in the DMZ. That's on the lesser end of their ills. We've partnered with South Korea since my long deceased father in law was over there in the early 50s. Seoul is within artillery range of one of the world's largest assemblages of artillery. Mountain passes in South Korea have huge concrete blocks, held up by small concrete blocks that a small demolition charge can shatter, allowing the huge blocks to prevent passage of DPRK tanks and such. They're not our friends, they're not anybody's friends, but this clown thinks Kim Jong Undefeated is his buddy.
And here we are today.
Oh, they have nukes and ICBM ambitions too.
