“Delcy Rodriguez and her brother Jorge Rodriguez has been part of the regime for nearly 20 years so it is a continuation of Chavismo. Chavismo without Maduro continues to be Chavismo,” said Iria Puyosa, senior research fellow at the Atlantic Council.
His nibs said Rubio had a phone conversation with Rodriguez and she was all sweetness. Rodriguez was on Venezuelan TV a couple hours later, saying she did not surrender to the US, her government is in place and functioning, and the US kidnapped their President.
Those demonstrations cheering the snatch of Maduro were not in Venezuela. They were in the US, Spain, and Columbia, supposedly by people who had left Venezuela. Think of them as the equivalent of the Cubans in Florida.
The PBS news had a live interview with a reporter in Venezuela. She said there were a few pro-Maduro demonstrators. No cheering for his snatch. Of course, the consequences of saying anything against Maduro, in Venezuela, are worse than saying anything against Israel, in the US.
