I agree that genetics and archeology place the Semitic peoples in that region for at least 3000 years. No dispute here.
Separatist movements sorta worked in the past. Not so much anymore. Just getting lots of people killed for no good reason. Look at Abu Sayyaf. Look at Palestine. If a government is weak, and has no external support, it can be overcome. Usually no. Occasionally they all agree they don't want to govern together and break up (Czechoslovakia for example).
The history of colonialism has created a lot of havoc. But to expect things to go back is silly. White South Africans aren't going away (barring a pogrom). They are too far removed from their indigenous lands. Somehow they managed to end apartheid and have a peaceful society. The whites are still there.
Sans a holocaust of either Jews or Palestinians, it is unreasonable to expect either to go away. The Palestinians in living memory remember their lands being confiscated. Many Jews have known no other home. Neither is leaving voluntarily.
So what to do? The only answer I have is not to take sides, disengage, and make them figure it out. Otherwise, we are not much better than the colonial powers that made this mess.
Ending religion would help, too. In fact, it may be the only way out for them (sans genocide). Not gonna hold my breath.
