Charging a non participant there to observe with RICO charges simply because they're an attorney for the SPL who you don't like does raise an eyebrow - there's no reason for that.
Sloppy bookkeeping in a charity is fairly normal and doesn't mean the charity is fake.
I don't agree with eco-terrorism and it's fine to prosecute them but charging the attorney looks abusive.
I can see why the other attorney pulled out. This seems like the type of case where a lot gets overturned in appeals because the evidence is thin and tenuous and can be seen as political free speech. It will be interesting to watch.
