UAE Mirage-2000-9 Jets Accused of Striking Iran’s Lavan Island Refinery, Threatening Collapse of Strait of Hormuz Ceasefire
Iranian military-linked sources claimed the refinery strike was conducted by Mirage-2000-9 fighter aircraft operated by the United Arab Emirates, immediately expanding the crisis beyond the original U.S.-Iran confrontation.https://defencesecurityasia.com/en/uae-mirage-2000...The UAE has a pipeline to the Gulf of Oman, bypassing the Strait, tho the pipe's capacity is only adequate for about half of the Emirates daily exports. Maybe the Emerates figures they make more profit, on half the volume, by keeping the Strait closed, and Iraq, and Kuwait off line? Iraq has a pipe through Turkey, but, it goes through Kurdish territory. Apparently, the Baghdad government, and the Kurds, have been in a snit, so the pipe is idle.
