Objectively, however, it will obviously generate more revenue.

It would probably generate revenue, because companies like Boeing and Lockheed, who use European vendors, cannot move their supply chains fast enough to avoid it. A trade war may well also cost them sales in Europe, so the government's revenue from US corporate and employee taxes will be reduced.

But the objective of the tariff is not revenue, but to extort Europe into surrendering Greenland.
