To follow on to Albaby's point:
Trump is stuck and lashing out and roaring and flailing, and sinking deeper and deeper .
His next move is practically immaterial. His presidency is in shambles, and he has lost control of enough Republicans who have to run for reelection to break his fever-hold on MAGA.
Domino Number Two:
"Representative Jared Golden (D-ME) announced that a bipartisan bill to repeal Trump’s executive order stripping the union rights from federal workers now has enough votes on a discharge petition to bring it before the House. Golden and Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) introduced the bill in April, but Johnson refused to bring it up. In June, Golden launched a discharge petition to force it to the floor.
Democrats and three Republicans signed the petition, but it was still two votes short of adoption. Today, Republican lawmakers Nick LaLota and Mike Lawler of New York signed it, bringing the number of signatures on the petition to 218. Enough Republican members have joined with the Democrats to override Johnson and challenge Trump’s executive order."
