The week's question
In March 2025, in the thread "Re: OT, out", Umm asked the members: "Do you think it is because America is made up of magical soil that makes businesses based in America magically profitable?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Chavez nationalized foreign oil holdings in Venezuela. European companies accepted the compensation Chavez offered, and called it a day. USian companies sued.

DrBob posted on the Fool that the auction of PDVSA's US holdings, known as Citgo, is about complete, with proceeds from the winning bid, $5.9B, to compensate the "victims" of the nationalization.

Inquiring minds want to know, after Exxon and ConocoPhilips pocket their compensation from the legal action, will the Trump installed quising in Venezuela hand their properties back to them, so they have both the cash, and the properties?
