No, he wasn't. Powell was playing the politician.

The Fed, and Powell, are not immune from oversight.

He should STFU and be investigated.

Stop whining to the press.

If he thinks the investigation is unlawful the Fed has LOTS of lawyers to go to court and get an injunction to stop it.

But otherwise Powell--STFU.

You aren't above the President, Congress, or the Judiciary.

If you did something wrong, then take your lumps.

If you didn't the investigation will bear that out.
