Great advice:
I have one further suggestion for all parents, whether they are of modest or staggering
wealth. When your children are mature, have them read your will before you sign it.
Going through this right now. Simple will, pretty much 50/50, but given our history it seems unfair, so did he really mean that? Can't ask him now.
We've assumed he didn't really mean 50/50 for everything. There's a nagging question, though.

I found Warren’s comments very thoughtful and beautifully written and reasoned. As always, I sense he is also looking after our best interests as well with the proper handling of the shares as best as he can provide guidance.
It also unfortunately reminds me of his mortality, esp. coming up on the 1 year anniversary since we lost Charlie. They’ve been fortunate with Father Time and We’ve been quite fortunate to have them lead Berkshire and share their wisdom for so long.

...coming up on the 1 year anniversary since we lost Charlie.
Yes, it seems somehow fitting that this first anniversary will fall on Thanksgiving Day in the United States. We have so much for which to be thankful to Charlie.

Does anyone here actually find that $10 million is not enough that his kids can do nothing?
At a reasonable withdrawal rate, it would allow each child to live the life of a doctor, without having to work like a doctor.

Do I remember a number of $2 million having been mentioned in this context many years ago?
Inflation : )
I guess the main point is that it's $10 million each (well-to-do), not $10 billion each (dynastic plutocrat).

Yes, but Susie Buffett passed 2004, right around when my ideas of "enough" were formed.

I imagine this is it, although it hits a bit odd to me. My family's scale of a reasonable life changing inheritance tops out in the mid six figures.

That $10m that the buffet kids inherited from their mother is worth much more 20 years later
