They are always willing to forgive someone they love like the Pedophile Protector, found liable for rape, guilty of multiple felonies, cheated on three wives, talked about dating his own daughter, bragged about walking in on naked teenage girls at his beauty contest, was the best friend of one of history's most notorious pedophiles, stole money from a charity for children with cancer, regularly peddles xenophobia and racism, and chose to let tens of thousands of people die by cutting off USAID funding (after letting a couple of hundred thousand Americans die by neglecting the pandemic) but... never a word of forgiveness for anyone they disdain.
