One of the Con's former VPs recalls a helicopter incident.

Cliff notes: Emergency landing. No crash, but flight needed to end ASAP. Black politician was Nate Holden, who will be a familiar name to Los Angelenos of sufficient age. (LA City council and CA State Senator)

I can't blame anyone for being a bit rattled by such an incident, even knowing that the flight was still under control. Not knowing how long it would stay that way could be unnerving for sure.
