Sadly not France or Germany but hey, it's still Western Europe.
https://www.news.com.au/world/europe/multiple-arre..."Multiple arrests, cop injured after protest in Ireland over girl’s alleged rape in Dublin hotel"Six people have been arrested and a police officer left injured after a protest over the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl turned violent in Ireland.
Up to 2000 demonstrators on Tuesday night gathered outside Citywest IPAS Centre, a hotel in southwest of Dublin housing asylum seekers.
But the anger quickly turned the anti-immigration rally upside down as masked and hooded men launched projectiles and fireworks at police.
Footage shared to social media showed at least one Garda police van on fire and rubbish bins torched as chants rang out demanding action.
“Get them out” and “save our kids” were repeatedly shouted by protesters.

One group also reportedly kicked down small walls at a nearby housing estate and grabbed bricks to use as missiles.
Heavily-armed riot police formed a blockade, while the dog and mounted units, and air support were called in to calm the tense situation.
The water cannon and pepper spray was also used at one point to push back protesters who were attempting to run towards officers and the hotel.

The anger stems from the alleged sexual assault of a young Irish girl at Citywest IPAS Centre in the early hours of Monday by a 26-year-old man.
The alleged offender, reported in Irish media as a national from Africa, is accused of raping the girl on the grounds of the hotel.
The 10-year-old, who was in the care of Tulsa, a child and family agency, escaped while being taken to Dublin city centre for a planned recreational visit on the weekend.

A spokesperson from Tulsa said the girl had been in contact with them during that time before later telling staff she had been attacked.
Staff hours later found the girl and contacted police.
She had been handed to the State by her family “due to significant behavioural issues”.
“The young girl was living in a fully staffed, registered residential placement, provided by a funded partner in the community and voluntary sector,” part of Tulsa’s statement read.
“Our priority now is on supporting the young girl and her family and liaising with An Garda Síochána as part of their investigation, and it is not appropriate to share any further details at this time.”

According to The Irish Times, the alleged offender arrived in Ireland six years ago seeking international protection, but his application was rejected in 2024.
He was charged with sexual assault when he appeared in court on Monday.
The migrant, who cannot be named due to the nature of the offence, had also been slapped with a deportation order, which still remains active.
“I have nothing to say,” the 26-year-old said in court.
A bail application is set to be heard on Wednesday.
‘Thuggery’
Justin Kelly, the Commissioner of Garda, which is the main law enforcement and security agency in Ireland, accused protests of “thuggery” behaviour.
“An Garda Siochana facilitate peaceful protests on daily basis. This was obviously not a peaceful protest,” he said at a press conference.
“The actions this evening can only be described as thuggery. This was a mob intent on violence against Gardaí.”
Comm Kelly praised the “professional” response and actions from some 300 police and condemned the demonstrators who had targeted officers trying to protect the public.
“Public order units, dog unit, mounted unit, air support and the water cannon were deployed along with frontline colleagues, which brought the situation to a conclusion,” he said.
“We will now begin the process of identifying those who committed crimes and we will bring those involved in this violence to justice.”
One officer, believed to be a female, sustained a foot injury.
Investigators say the rally was organised on social media.
