Good thing we have the technology to remove the salt from the oceans. In fact, humans are getting better and better from removing salt from water to make it fresh. We also are getting better and better at producing energy. It is almost like technology is advancing.

Right. That means we are either raising our standard of living or the population is growing.

You are proving my point. You are projecting population growth while ignoring technological advancement. Humankind has grown its population exponentially the last 500 years or so and we have managed to mostly feed everyone, grow their standard of living and help them live longer all while the planet is still here and thriving. Do you think we are just going to stop advancing?
