I think if Republicans run those sorts of ads, it could backfire on them. Trump is almost as old, and has his share of gaffes, too.

He looks and acts younger than Biden.

Elections are a choice. Voters never get the candidate that matches everything they want. They will prefer one candidate on some dimensions, and the other candidate on other dimensions. You want to raise the salience on issues that voters prefer your candidate on.

If age is a factor in a voter's mind, that helps Trump more than it hurts him. I can't imagine there's many voters who believe that age would be a greater liability for Trump's ability to perform the office over the next four years than Biden. Even among Biden supporters. It's a perfect wedge issue for Trump.
