The week's question
In March 2025, in the thread "Re: OT, out", Umm asked the members: "Do you think it is because America is made up of magical soil that makes businesses based in America magically profitable?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Had the Pronoun stuff not been a thing. Had a practical, humane, promise to step up illegal immigration enforcement and end things like sanctuary cities.....been part of the platform. That would have robbed MAGA of some of its biggest issues and get out of the vote issues.

THEN had the debate been solely health insurance, Social Security, wages and schools and affordability----it would've been EASY wins for Democrats in 2016 and Trump would've never won.

It would've been easy wins for Democrats in 2024---where "Kamala" started out better funded and 53% in the polls and kicked Trump's butt in the debate.

If the attitude of 'if you aren't from the faculty lounge or a coastal yoga mom.....just shut up and do as you are told" wasn't so obvious.........then it wouldn't just be the wins --it would have been big wins with governing mandates to enact reforms that would last decades.

But---not many Democrats were fans of doing this.

No different then MAGA they need 'all or nothing' purity.

All I can saying is - 1)Take Maga's issues away. 2.)Fight the election on Democratic strengths which happen to align with people's fears and needs.

Sort of cakewalk easy to win.

Those who pretend to care about 'democracy' at times have to compromise with voters. Sometimes give a few to get more than a few in return.

PS> Pete is someone I wrote about on TMF well before the Sheeple even knew about him. He reeks of competence. I think he'd do well In New Hampshire to start with. Personally I think Beshear might fare better in a general?
