If California were a nation it would rank in terms of nominal GDP as the world's fifth largest economy, behind Japan and ahead of India, and the second largest economy in the world per capita.

California's economy is the largest in the United States, making up over 15% of the country's economic output.

California is home to some of the world's most valuable technology companies, including Apple, Alphabet, and Nvidia, 11 Fortune 100 companies, and 53 Fortune 500 companies.

But sure, who needs more states like California?
