and they also fear that their ground water that many rely on will be pumped dry for the cooling needs of the data centers. And the local politicians are a rubber stamp for whatever the corporations
behind the data centers want,

We have already seen what the (L&Ses) in Lansing think of ground water. Bottling companies pump millions of gallons out of the aquifer, for a paltry $200/year permit. But Ottawa County, where a lot of people are having trouble with their wells going salty, or dry? Nope, no money available from Lansing to help build a pipeline to Lake Michigan, to replace what they used to be able to draw from the aquifer.

I'm pretty sure that interested parties can find someone to go on youtube to advance their agenda.

What really sets off alarm bells is DTE trying to do it without any public hearings. That's a perfect setup for irresponsible management that thinks they can jump on the bandwagon, and make some easy money for themselves. Ratepayers, and the state Public Service Commission are already chafing at the frequency and scale of DTE's rate increase requests.

When I worked at the pump seal company, they were finding the competition in their core ANSI/API markets too hot. Their solution? Go "high tech", even though they did not have the engineering or manufacturing capability to support higher end products. Very much like the automakers, now, saying they want to go "upmarket".

Steve...glad he bought higher efficiency furnace and a/c a few years ago.
