Yesterday, writing in the Washington Post, Catherine Rampell noted that our education-services trade surplus is larger than the trade surplus in the entire completed civilian aircraft sector.

In dollar terms, last year, the United States sold more educational services to the rest of the world than it sold in natural gas and coal combined.

And In 2023, international visitors spent a record $254 billion in the US.

Naturally, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has a warm, welcoming message for international travelers: "Visiting America is not an entitlement. It is a privilege extended to those who respect our laws and values."
