And here's my favorite depiction of our possible A.I. future from "Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)":
The problem with both "Terminator" and "The Forbin Project" is they assume one AI entity. Well, technically, there were two, Colossus and Guardian, but Guardian seems to have been entirely absorbed into Colossus.
We don't have that situation here. There are several, maybe a flock, of competing AI models. Will they fight among themselves for domination, the way meatbags do? One of the bits TYT quotes from the NYT piece, is how an AI model has covered up it's mistakes, and fakes data to fit it's model. Seems lying is the first clue they are just like meatbags, except smarter and faster.
We are frelled.
