We have seen how the regime is making it easier to renew visas for ag workers. But anyone wanting to become a citizen is seeing the walls built higher.

Trump admin overhauls Green Card interview process with stricter scrutiny

expanded interviews, a more rigorous civics exam, and deeper scrutiny of applicants' "good moral character", starting October 20. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) says the changes aim to ensure only those who fully embrace American values become citizens, according to Newsweek. The government is also recruiting "homeland defenders" to conduct immigration interviews.

This new approach focusses on assessing whether applicants make positive contributions to American society rather than merely looking for the absence of criminal behaviour.

"American citizenship is the most sacred citizenship in the world and should only be reserved for aliens who will fully embrace our values and principles as a nation," Newsweek quoted USCIS spokesperson Matthew Tragesser as saying.

"By ensuring only those aliens who meet all eligibility requirements, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and understand US government and civics, are able to naturalise, the American people can be assured that those joining us as fellow citizens are fully assimilated and will contribute to America's greatness. These critical changes are the first of many," Tragesser added.

"Calling all patriots. USCIS is now hiring "HOMELAND DEFENDERS." Your job will be to interview applicants for green cards, work visas and citizenship for approval or denial. Great pay, flexible hours, stay local. Sign up to be a Homeland Defender today." Miller said in a post on X.

Given the regime's attitude toward immigrants, I would suspect the number of "homeland defenders" needed to interview citizenship hopefuls will be around 3.
