Well, they are closing it whenever they feel like it.
Except they're not. I assume you've not read the headline of the thread or looked at any of the data. I'll repeat it: Oil flows in the month of September were about what they were in 2025 when one considers the Saudi pipeline *and* when you zero out Iran's contributions.
In the last week of September, oil flows were roughly at 2025 levels even WITHOUT Iran, which is still under the blockade.
This board was all about 'Iran controls the straits of Hormuz and OMG we'resofrelledforeverandeverandeverbuyanEVsomethingsomething' or whatever it was. As always, letting tings play out instead of reacting emotionally is always the better tack.
You guys were all *wrong*. You were wrong in your strategic assessment of Iran, you were wrong about the US Navy's capabilities, wrong about Iran's ability to maintain pressure and wrong about the resilience of the oil/gas industries. Also wrong in reading what the Navy was doing the entire time (I told you for months we had yet to make a concerted effort to force traffic through the strait).
Wrong about...all of it. Are we done? No, not yet. But all the typical predictions of doom and gloom didn't pan out.
You can cheer up, though. Iran's favorite political party is set to take control of the House and we can all look forward to more Impeachment (over nothing) Theater.
