Well, what I've learned from lawyers on this board (and the Old Fool) is that this is blatantly unconstitutional.

That’s my understanding as well.

It would be challenged in court, and probably voided almost instantly. The states control voting. Period.

That’s the part where I smile and pat people on the head condescendingly. Oh you sweet innocent child. That’s the way it should work. But not for Trump. He’ll be in court and filing appeal after appeal, while running the clock down to the election date. He will do what he wants in spite of court orders, daring people to stop him. Is the judge going to stop him? Is the DoJ going to stop him? Of course not.

Because we didn’t stop Trump early, he has gathered enough levers of power to do pretty much whatever he wants now. It may no longer be possible to stop. Much will depend on the mid terms and Congress growing a spine. And even that may not be enough any more.

I genuinely believe that it may take a hot war. The only question is will that be an intramural war (with various states lining up on each side) or will it be WWIII?
