Heather Cox Richardson wrote today in her Letters From An American blog:

Justice Samuel Alito tried to turn the argument for accountability upside down by suggesting that complete immunity would be more likely to encourage presidents to leave office, because if a president knew they could be prosecuted for crimes, they would be less likely to leave peacefully.

Surely this is highly strained logic:

A) Lack of full immunity after leaving office => POTUS won't want to ever leave office

therefore:

B) Full immunity after leaving office => POTUS would be ok with leaving office
