Finally found a reasonable price for turkey ham. Jennie-O used to make it (2-lb package), but stopped in 2020-2021 due to bird flu killing turkey flocks. This producer is Godshall's (or godshalls.com ). They are located in PA. They make it in two package sizes for a reason. 1.5lb package is $10.99 under the Godshalls brand name. NOT HALAL. Alternatively, under their supervision (?) they also make *halal* turkey ham in a 6-lb package. This is sold under the Deen Halal brand name. Looks a bit like a ham but is all dark meat turkey. Just got one. Bought one a year ago (shipped via air), but got this one locally (saved shipping cost). Price is $6.99/lb, so $42 for the package. Fantastic for sandwiches. Key point: It is NOT frozen. You want it not frozen. It can be frozen ONE time, then use it or lose it. A second freezing essentially makes it pretty yuck, so don't do it. What I do is cut the turkey ham into sandwich-sized slices and freeze those in 3-packs. One package = 3 sandwiches, so I know what to expect. You can also cut it up into chunks for stews, etc. Zero waste.
