Hi Steve, mad respect for your post---- calling out a huge grave problem and calling it truly, a bipartisan problem.
This is literally, killing us - and others.] and only --- having micro-moments of laying down political tribal colors will solve it.
I send in tiny donations - ANYTIME a congressperson speaking against Israeli meddling and warmongering and I attach a small note for my reason for giving. I've written to office of AOC, stating how I'm mostly Republican but I'm willing to vote SOLELY on this issue -- that I'd vote for the Wokest, most Blue-haired candidate if he or she had the guts to tell AIPAC to get lost.
Rare hopes that I have.....
*Young Progressives. They are starting to speak up and speak out. IF they all don't get political crushed by Israel, or bought off there's some hope there.
*Youn Conservatives --indeed. SOME of them are waking up.
This is where the Al Sharptons of a certain community will shout, in a loud and organized an persistent way "Anti-Semitic!". Sorry, I got no qualm with semites.
It's OK to say "we're not sending billions to Israel- when we need basics here at home" - it's like America First, only it's real.
It's OK to say "we're done making enemies in the Middle East---we sort of don't like 9-11's and as a matter of fact. our people have TONS in common with the average Iranian or Syrian....they actually do real well in our country"
I truly have *some* hope for these two demographics and I spend -- more time than I'd like to admit, communicating with pockets of them online.
The one stickler: The Religious Right. The "Noun-verb-RAPTURE!" people who are waiting to be taken to paradise while the rest of us stay here in hell (real nice thought....). SOMEHOW, to get them to realize that Jesus can hire a $15 an hour security guard to guard the city he supposedly loves so much---it ain't our problem. It's impossible. It's like dealing with their counterparts in the Taliban.
my thought - leave that one backwards-American Taliban group behind. They're getting poorer and dumber. YES they are sadly a huge factor---just like Mullah Omar, the Mullahs in America know how to keep their flock poor, retarded, and afraid and clinging to clubhouse rules. there's just no reaching them.
But young Progressives? Young Conservatives? I feel that in real life. online. Socially. Economically -- they should be treated as one wonderful fraternity----and check all differences at the door.
Again I'm not just preaching. I've been doing just this in my own tiny way.
